The story of Chuck’s 1971 Chevy Nova “SS” starts with a seven year
“custom” restoration of a 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.
In 2007 Chuck and his son, Dana, went on the Year One “Bandit” Experience to Atlanta
in commemoration of the Smokey and the Bandit movies.
Both Chuck’s Oldsmobile and his son’s Nova were stolen in Atlanta while at the Experience.
Dana's car was found quickly with a blown engine, but Chuck wasn’t quite as lucky.
His Oldsmobile was recovered completely stripped.
Chuck purchased the yellow 71 Nova to replace the Cutlass, giving them comparable Novas.
They rebuilt the blown engine from Dana’s car and put it in the 71 Nova.
He says it’s a Chevy 350 “modified just a little.”
This car not only is a good looking example of a ’71 Nova, but it sounds very strong.
Chuck and his son are best buddies and they can
be found together at local car shows almost weekly.
Chuck did get his Oldsmobile back and it may be back on
the road again someday, but for now he’s enjoying his Chevy Nova.
